It was a all around tough tournament for the team with two fish caught. Conditions were difficult to say the least. The team made the best of their time and visit to Ocracoke and a great time was had by all!

Cobia Tourney

The Club held its 12th annual Cobia Classic Tournament on Saturday, June 28th 2008
The weather conditions were not ideal but more than 15 boats participated with one 47" Cobia landed weighing 33.5lbs. Captained by Danny Davis with angler Roger caught this Cobia using a live Spot.

RockFish Rodeo Tourney
Date: November 30, 2007
The 16th annual Virginia Beach Anglers Club Rockfish Rodeo and Bluefish Round-up is
in the history books. With the forecast looking a little "bummpy" attendence was down a
little, however out of the 10 teams registered 5 weighed in. The weather did not get ugly
as early as they said, it held off till early morning. Most of the striper were caught around
midnight, and there were no bluefish caught.
In first place with a 42 3/4" , 26lb 6oz striper, Team "Reelin Reeltor" with Capt. Cherlynn
Fayerheim. This team won $300.00 cash, $100.00 gift cert. for Long Bay Pointe Bait &
Tackle, and the "big Surprise" a 44 inch Rockfish mount compliments of David Saunders,
Mountian Breeze Taxidermy.
Second place with a 40", 25lb 4oz striper, Team "Eva K" with Capt. Rich Lott. Winnings
totalling $150.00 cash, $25.00 Bass Pro gift card Compliments of Budwieser, and
beacause they are VBAC members they got the $25.00 bonus for placing.
In Third place (first fish weighed in) a 41 1/2", 23lb 6oz, Team "Catch n' Tales" with
Capt. Tuan A Vu. This team took home $75.00 cash. They also won the Big prize in the
raffle, a Makers Mark lamp post and bourbon street sign.
The awards and after party was great, Tom Mooney and his Murphy's Family went all out
to accomodate our group, food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond.
Congrats to all and thanks to everyone that participated and helped make this a great
event.

Hunt for HardHeads Tournament
Date: May 17, 2008
Eligible species: Croaker, Flounder, Bluefish (top 5 earn points)
Place: Portsmouth City Park
Time: 7am-1:30pm (weigh in 12:30 - 1:30)
Cost: $30 boat (3 anglers + $10 per additional angler)
Picnic Only: $5.00 per person
Charitable Cause: Wish A Fish
This is a club tournament, teams from Portsmouth Anglers, Greatbridge Fishermans Association, and Virginia Beach Anglers Club. These teams hold this early tournament as a fund raiser for the up coming toys for tots tournament as well as other kid events.
Lines in at 6:00am
Boundry... 500 feet east of HRBT, you can fish off the Chamberlin.
This is a length only tournament (no weight) Mesurement cut off will be at 1:30pm.
Location is Portsmouth Cith Park, located on City Park Ave. Portsmouth VA
Following the end of measurement there is a very nice cook out, this year Great Bridge is Cooking.
Boats leave from any port / Unlimited number of entries
Club with the most point total wins a large display by Mountain Breeze Taxidermy...a trophy the club keeps for 1 year.
